Gosaikunda Trek starts from Syabrubesi and passes through the Tamang and Hylmo villages. These beautiful villages have been a part of glorious cultural pride. They have preserved the primitive Tibetan essence and its cultural lifestyle. Most of the trekking trail leads to the dense forest of Rhododendron and Oak forests. On the way, the way opens up with a beautiful scenario of towering Himalayas, high and beautiful. The close-up view of mountains excites every traveller’s heart. 3 Hours Before Flight Time
While entering the border of Nepal, you see the Terai Plain and everlasting green hills. The Himalayas at the horizon smile over your arrival in Nepal. After customs clearance, proceed toward the arrival terminal (gate). Our company’s representative receives you and transfers to the hotel as assigned.
The exploration of Kathmandu valley starts after taking breakfast. You will visit some of the ancient UNESCO heritage which is an important destination. Our tour guide will take you to Pashupatinath Temple and its surroundings to explore. This temple is the holiest destination on Earth for Hindu. The temple’s architecture is a masterpiece to behold. After this, you will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is the largest stupa in Nepal. After exploration, visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, the monkey temple of Nepal. These two stupas are the pious destination for Buddhists. The vibes you get from these places are unworldly and divine. As time goes by, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the oldest squares in the valley. From here, we can walk up to the Thamel market if we have some shopping left to do for trekking.
Having breakfast, you drive to Syabrubesi. You head toward the north of Kathmandu through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas. Your journey up to Trishuli Bazaar will be smooth one but the road gets bumpy and narrow onwards. You pass through steep hills and gorging rivers following the winding and narrow bends. You experience the remoteness and rural beauty on the way. You might be able to get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal.
You take rest as you reach Syabrubesi. Syabrubesi is a beautiful village lies on the bank of Trishuli River. It is the gathering spot for trekkers going for Langtang Trek. You can stroll around the market and get ready for tomorrow’s first-day trek.
After breakfast, you traverse the main road of Syabrubesi and reach the Permit Checkpoint. You cross the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River and the Langtang trek starts. The trail ascends toward toward Syabru Gaon. En route, you pass through various teahouse and see the beautiful scenery. You enjoy the trek and overnight at Thulo Syabru Gaon.
After breakfast, you trek to Lauribina. The trail goes slightly uphill and passes through rhododendron and pine forest. En route, you see beautiful mountain villages and landscapes. You will see chortens with fluttering prayers flags and some wild animals. We pass through various villages like Garta Village, Phulung Monastery, Shin Gumba. Take an uphill climb and reach Lauribina, highland pastureland. The area between Shin Gumba and Lauribina is a sanctuary area for Red Panda. Red Panda is an endangered species of the world.
From Lauribina, you trek slowly gaining less altitude and acclimatizing the body. Today you will be feasting your eyes with the panoramic and scenic view of four peaks of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. There are dozens of lakes in the Gosaikunda basin. Among all three of them have greater religious importance; Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. According to legend, when the world was in the brink of destruction by deadly poison. Lord Shiva swallowed the poison and kept in his throat. To quench his thirst, he thrust his trident at the glacier.
You move around the lakes before you ascend toward the Lauribina Pass (4,610m) the highest point in this trek. Crossing this pass, the Helambu Region begins. You look back at the majestic view of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Lirung. You trek down to Melamchi Valley. The trail is narrow and rugged marked with cairns. Before reaching Ghopte, there is Surya Kunda, a holy lake en route.
After breakfast, you trek through dense Rhododendron forest. You will be climbing up and down until you reach Therapati. From there, the trail descends through pine and rhododendron forests. You can see the beautiful Helambu valley and landscapes. The Jugal Himal and Numbur mountains across the valley are one of the best sights you will see. Melamchi Gaun is a Sherpa settlement with its unique culture and tradition. This village houses some monasteries as the people are Buddhist.
From Melamchi Gaun, you trek down until you reach a small stream. You trek uphill and reach Ama Yangri and you can see a small Sherpa settlement. There is a stupa and Buddhist prayer flags fluttering. From the top of the hill, you can see a close view of the Shisapangma and Langtang series. Further, we descend and enter the forest area. You pass through broken stupa then reach Tarke Ghyang. Tarke Ghyang is a Sherpa settlement which house one of the oldest and the biggest monastery.
You begin your trek with a nice and easy walk. The trail leads to lush forests. On the way, you can see many chortens, stupas, mani walls, and beautiful villages. You can see mountains Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang series. Today, most of your journey is downhill walk. You reach to final trekking stop, Kakani.
You trek to Melamchi Pul from Kakani. From Melamchi Pul, you drive to Kathmandu. The remaining time at Kathmandu is at your disposal. You can explore the surrounding area and enjoy it.
Enjoy your final day at Kathmandu. Free till final departure. Transfer to the airport 3 hours before the flight scheduled.
In this travel package, we arrange transport facilities for Arrival & Departure depending upon the group size. For sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley, we arrange a good vehicle. The Drop facility to Syabrubesi and Pickup facility from Melamchi Pul is within this package. The vehicle will be nice and clean for transfer. During trek transfer, we provide 4WD transport as the ride is rough & bumpy.
In the case of extra transportation arrangements (leaving the trek earlier from the group or other destinations not mentioned), you are responsible for an extra cost.
The accommodation at Kathmandu is in the 3-star hotel on a BB basis. During the trek, each night you stay on a tea house/guesthouse run by local communities. Most of the tea houses are basic yet comfortable. The room is on a sharing basis with two beds. You will have a common hall for your meal & relaxing. In some places, the washroom (toilet) during the trek is the Squat toilet and used as a sharing one.
We are not responsible for extra night accommodation in Kathmandu or other destinations. You might have to take extra night accommodation due to early arrival, late departure, early return from the trek, or due to any other reasons than the scheduled itinerary. You have to bear the cost of crew members as well as yours for meal & accommodation if you have to take an extra day in the trek.
The Gosaikunda Trek is within a Langtang National Park of Nepal. The permits required during this Gosaikunda Trek are;

At Kathmandu, Breakfast is from the hotel side while the guest has to arrange Lunch and Dinner on their own. At the same time, it is the best chance to explore Nepali style food in Nepali Restaurants. On request, the Lunch & Dinner is served. Farewell dinner will be served on behalf of Lets Trip Nepal Adventure Pvt. Ltd.
The meal during the Langtang Valley Trek will be a simple and authentic Nepalese style. The breakfast and the dinner will be served at the tea house where you are staying overnight, and the lunch will be served on the way. The meals provided are fresh, organic, and locally grown vegetables. We don’t recommend having non-veg items (meats & dairy) during the trek, as they are not hygienic & healthy. Consumption of alcoholic drinks, caffeinated items & hot chocolate are bad during high altitude trek. All the Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be in the package during the trek.
The Langtang Valley Trek is a moderate trek. You will be walking on the mountain trail at a high elevation. You need to take extra care of your body and get well acclimatized during the trek. Stay safe from AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). You need to have good cardiovascular and body fitness. Having a previous high altitude walk is beneficial for this trek. You descend and ascend continuously at high elevation. The trek will be easier and successful if you could walk 7-8 hours per day during the trek. Regardless of age or fitness, it is recommended that some preparation is needed before you arrive. Walk daily 6-7 hours at your hometown before you take this experience.
The best time to visit Gosaikunda Trek will be in Autumn (September–November) and Spring (March-May). This is the best time to explore the unexplored terrain and the climatic condition is favorable. The weather will be warm, clean, and sunny with an incredible view of mountains and hills on the horizon. The winter season (December–February) is cold for trekking. The summer/monsoon season (June–August) will also not be favorable as the trail is slippery. You have to take great risks to complete the journey because of rainfall.
Tipping is solely a traveller’s choice, be more or less entirely their perception. The wages provided to Guide(s) & Porter(s) for the trek are basic wage which will be used for meals & accommodation. Normally, tips are offered at the end of the trek or end of the whole trip. The amount to give is decided by the group depending upon your perception of service quality, length of trip, budget, and appreciation of their work. In Nepalese culture, tipping is the way to express your happiness about the trip and our service quality. The weight limit for your luggage is 9 kg per trekker. Porters will be assigned to carry your luggage for your trek. One porter will carry the bags of two guests. The combined luggage should not exceed more than 18 kg. We are travelling to higher altitudes and should think about porters as well. So, we never overload our porters. You should carry your own knapsack or backpack (with your valuables or anything important) on your own. Only carry what are essentials, you have to leave any excess baggage either at your hotel or at the Lets Trip Nepal Adventure store for free and it’ll be completely safe.
Your trekking trail goes to the remote destinations of Nepal. Most of the places don’t have a good health center or even medicine at a time. So, you have to carry the necessary medicine and think about travel safety. Our, guide(s) and porter(s) will not be responsible for bad health hazards due to the use of any medicine. They are only responsible to make your treks successful and give guidance during the trip.
