Nar Phu Two Passes Trek is a exclusive trek which combines trek to two highest pass of Nepal. The trek trail passes through Kanga La Pass (5,332m) and Thorang La Pass (5,416m). The experience it offers it very remarkable and sureal. The trail to Nar & Phu village is remote and untouched. And the trail leading to Thorang La is lengendary.
Nar and Phu are the main villages of the region situated above the tree line. During the winter, the people of Nar and Phu villages move down to the villages near by Manang. The people of this region are mostly engaged in herding yak and selling their meat, wool and hides. In the recent years, the locals have engaged in tourism business. They have opened small tea houses and lodges to cater the tourists. Yak, mule and human carry the required foods and supply to the villages. Apart of Nar and Phu villages, other destinations are well accessed with transportation. The lodge provides better accommdation and hospitility. There are numerous shops to get the things you want. Experience this exotic journey through remote areas as well as well accessed destinations.
The best time to visit this destination is during April – June and September – November.

In this Nar Phu Two Passes Trek, you have a city tour at Kathmandu. We drive to Besisahar to Jagat. We start our trekking journey onward to the remote Nar and Phu villages. Nar Phu Two Passes Trek Itinerary
Welcome to Kathmandu (1,300m)
While entering the border of Nepal, you see the Terai Plain and everlasting green hills. The Himalayas at the horizon smile over your arrival in Nepal. After custom clearance, proceed toward arrival terminal (gate). Our company’s representative receives you and transfer to hotel as assigned.

Explore Kathmandu and Trek preparation
The exploration of Kathmandu valley starts after taking breakfast. You will visit some of the ancient UNESCO heritage which is important destination. Our tour guide will take you to Pashupatinath Temple and its surrounding to explore. This temple is the holiest destination on Earth for Hindu. The temple’s architecture is a masterpiece to behold. After this, you will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is the largest stupa in Nepal. After exploration, visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa, the monkey temple of Nepal. These two stupas are pious destination for Buddhist. The vibes you get from these places is unworldly and divine. As the time goes by, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the oldest squares in the valley. From here, we can walk up to Thamel market if we have some shopping left to do for trekking.

Drive Kathmandu to Jagat (1100m) via Besisahar (760m)
After having breakfast, we drive to Besi Sahar. The drive to Besi Sahar is like escaping from concrete jungle Kathmandu. You can see beautiful mountainscape and mountain villages. The Trishuli River and Marshyangdi River flow side by side to the highway. The mountain villages and small locale market on the way excites your journey to Besi Sahar. From Besi Sahar, we drive to Syange on bumpy road by local transportation.

Trek Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m)
The trek starts with the slow descend toward the river. The trail continues within dense forest of Rhododendron and Juniper. We reach to Chamje. Chamje is a beautiful village watched over by Annapurna Ranges. From Chamje, we cross the suspension bridge. By following the rocky and narrow trail, we reach to Tal village. There is a beautiful waterfall that captivate the every traveller’s heart. Continue the trek to Koto and reach Dharapani after couple of hours.

Trek Dharapani to Koto (2,610m)
After breakfast, we take slow and steady walk to Bagarchhap, a Buddhist village. There is a white washed monastery to visit. The trek continues to Danakyu which is a hour walk. From Danakyu (apple farm), the trek steeply ascends to Timang, the good spot to enjoy the view of Peak 29 and Mt Manaslu. We leave those beautiful scenarios and we trek to Kota via Latamarga through pine forest. En route you will have occasional view of Annapurna II. Koto is a entry checkpost for the trek. We get register before continuing trek our trek further.

Trek Koto to Meta Village (3,560m)
Today, we leave behind the Annapurna Circuit trail and split the journey. The journey split to narrow and ridged line trail. We cross the raging river through shakey bridge. We enter the forests and continue the journey to Chhomchu. We have our Lunch at Chhomchu (Chhechhe). The easy trail continues along the bank of the river. The uphill trek starts from Dharmasala until we reach Meta. Meta used to be a temporary settlement and grassland area. Now, it is a small village to accommodate the travellers.

Trek Meta to Phu village (4,250m)
The early morning view from Meta is very beautiful. After breakfast, our journey starts to Phu (Phoo) village. After 30 minutes’ walk, we will reach Nar Phu crossroad. The trail continues for Phu village. We have our Lunch at Chyakhu. The Chyakhu is high pasture ground between tall barren ridges and Glaciers River. It is really amazing and worth spending some of our time for relaxation. The trail from Kyang is a bit difficult. We pass through crumbled entrance of Phu village.

Acclimatization Day
On this day, we trek to Uibi. It is a temporary settlement and pasture ground of Phu people. The local people gather their cattle and crops at this place. The plain green meadows and the view from the Uibi is the best thing you could see today.
The history, culture, rites and rituals are worth exploring. During Tibet and China war, Khampas fled from Tibet and came to Nepal. They robbed the local village, killed animals and sustained their living. Later, Phu people resided in the present location of Phoo village. There is a ruin of building at the top of the village as a watch tower. As you keep on exploring the village, you will find the Tibetan style houses made of stone and mud. The houses adorned with prayer flags and stacks of firewood are beautiful. The people of Phu forbade to take tobacco or cigarette to anyone. The one to breach rule, they have to pay Rs 100,000.
There is a high possibility of seeing blue sheep (naur). As the night approach, the flocks of blue sheep come near the village area. They spend their night to be safe from snow leopard.

Trek Phu village to Nar Phedi Monastery (3,490m)
Visit local monastery, Tashi Lakang Gumba early in the moring. After visit, we have our breakfast. We continue journey further. We retrace the same route to Chyaku, the crossroad of Nar and Phu village. We go toward Nar Phedi. At Nar Phedi, there is a monastery which offers accommodation for the guests. The rooms at the monastery are clean and the nuns are very welcoming. At the evening, you can take part in Puja too.

Trek Nar Phedi to Nar village (4,110m)
The trek from Nar Phedi to Nar village is straight uphill and winding walk. As we ascend, we can see Pisang Peak along with other peaks. On the way, there is an octagonal chorten at the top the hill. As you reach near the Nar, the twisting trail leads to the village resting against the hillside. The terrace of barely field is beautiful is observe as they sway with the wind. After lunch, we explore the village. You will find the village livelier and relatively friendly than Phu.

Trek Nar village to Ngawal (3,660m) via Kang La Pass (5,332m)
Today, we start our trek early in the morning after breakfast. This trek gonna be the longest journey throughout the trek. The highest elevation Kang la Pass (5,332m) will be the toughest hike. It gonna take 6 hours to ascend Kang La pass and 3 hours to (steep) descend from there and reach Ngawal. The view from the top is magnificent; you can see the series of Annapurna II, Tilicho peak, Gangapurna and the valley below.

Trek Ngawal to Manang (3,540m)
The trekking trail descends until you reach Braga village. We visit the monastery at the village and continue the journey ahead. The Manang valley can be reach after couple of hours from Ngawal. From Manang, we hike up to Chhunker View. It is the best spot to view Gangapurna Lake (3500m), Annapurna Ranges, Pisang Peak (6091m), Tilicho Peak (7134m), Chulu Peak (6429m), and other small peaks. Later, we hike to Cave Gompa (4500m) and explore. Return to Manang valley and overnight at lodge.

Acclimatization Day
Today, we trek to Gangapurna Lake after breakfast. Gangapurna Lake is a beautiful lake formed from Gangapurna Glacier. Here we can see series of mountains like Manaslu, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, Tilicho Peak etc. After exploring the area we return to Manang
In Manang, we explore the village. There is old museum where we can observe about Manange People and its culture. There is a mini theatre also which show the documentary about Yartung festival.

Trek Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m)
After breakfast, we leave Tilicho Lake trail and continue our circuit trek to Yak Kharka. On the way, there is a great chance of seeing wild animals (Blue sheep & Musk deer). Enroute, we see Chulu East and Tilicho Peak. We reach Yak Kharka and rest. Yak Kharka is grassland where we can see Yaks and Mules grazing.

Trek Yak Kharka to Thorang Phedi (4,600m)
After breakfast, we climb slowly to Ledar. Between Ledar to Thorang Phedi, there is a place called Landslide. The rocks fall without prior notice at this place. We have to take extra care while traversing this place. After reaching Thorang Phedi, we take enough rest. Well, get acclimatize our body to prevent from AMS.

Trek Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m) via Thorang La (5,416m)
Today, we have our breakfast early in the morning. We arrange some snacks and packed Lunch as there will be no further human settlement today. We ascend slowly to Thorang La and acclimatize the body. Thorang La is the highest pass in the world and crossing over is the difficult task to do in this trek. From Thorang La, we can see Thorang Peak and Mustang valley. The onward journey is descending until we reach Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred destination for both Hindu and Buddhist.

Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (2,743m) via Kagbeni (2,804m)
After breakfast, we trek down to Kagbeni and explore the village. The trail to Upper Mustang splits at Kagbeni. Leaving behind the beautiful Kagbeni village, we continue our trek to Jomsom along the Kaligandaki River. At Jomsom, high velocity of wind flows making it difficult to trek after 12 noon. Jomsom is well facilitated with modern ammenites. There is a airport which operates daily flight to Pokhara. Explore the town and rest.

Drive Jomsom to Tatopani (1,200m)
After breakfast, we drive to Tatopani. We take public transportation to reach the destination. The road is bumpy and runs along the Kaligandaki River. On the way, there is a beautiful waterfall, Rupse Waterfall and the deepest valley, Dana. We reach to Tatopani where we take bath on natural hot spring. We let our body get energized while taking bath.

Trek Tatopani to Sikha (2,380m)
After having breakfast, we cross the Kaligandaki River through suspension bridge. Then start upward journey. On the way, we can see various scattered villages. You can also see the beautiful point peaks like Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri & Tukuche. We reach Sikha after climbing many more stone stairs. Sikha is a beautiful Magar settlement.

Trek Sikha to Ghorepani (2,850m)
Today, the trek to Ghorepani is long and less steep than yesterday. We walk through forested wood and the trails have stone steps. We enjoy our journey while looking at the nature. We recall our journey to comfort ourselves to forget the pain. We endure and continue to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a little bustling village. There are lots of hotels and shops.

Trek Ghorepani to Tikhedhunga (2,860m)
The very early morning at dawn, we trek to Poonhill about 45 minutes. Poonhill is famous view point for sunrise. This is major touristic destination for trekkers who trek in Annapurna region. As the sunrays kisses the Annapurna and Hiuchuli, you get indulge in the moments of happiness. Capture the moments and we return to Ghorepani. We have our breakfast and trek down to Tikhedhunga. There are many stone steps at Ulleri. We descend slowly so we won’t trip down. Tikhedhunga is just below the Ulleri’s steps.

Trek Tikhedhunga to Nayapul (1,070m). Drive back to Pokhara
After breakfast, we trek alongside the Modi River. The greenery and rice terrace is beautiful on the way. We reach the Nayapul, the starting point for Annapurna Trek. We drive to Pokhara and rest day.
